Countries around the globe including Arab countries have experienced tremendous growth in Management Education both in size and scope. The major challenge is to ensure the quality of management education across the whole range of programs and institutions through suitable quality assurance mechanisms including accreditation and evaluation systems.
Furthermore, business schools in the Arab region need to align their missions, strategies and delivery to respond to the challenges posed by globalization, growth and expansion, increased competition and the changing needs and demands of the corporate world both locally and internationally.
The conference will highlight the need for more active involvement by business schools in the communities in which they are based as mandated by their corporate social responsibility. Business schools also need to be aware of their responsibility to shape the attitudes and behaviors of the future business leaders towards social responsibility and sustainability and to prepare them to deal with the broader impact and potential of business as a positive global force. In this context, the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a UN-backed global initiative developed to promote corporate responsibility and sustainability in business education will be presented and advocated.
This conference will truly be a unique opportunity for academics, business and government leaders to debate and guide the future development of management education in this part of the world.
